Biography

Dr. Rajdeep Pakanati is a Professor and Assistant Director, Centre for Global Governance and Policy. Dr. Rajdeep Pakanati holds a Bachelors in Political Sciences from Kakatiya University (India), Masters degree in Politics and International Relations and an M.Phil degree in International Law from Jawaharlal Nehru University (India). He has also earned a Masters degree in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware. He completed his Doctorate degree in June, 2012, from the University of Delaware (United States). He has been an instructor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Delaware and has taught comparative politics and the politics of developing nations.

Prof. (Dr.) Rajdeep Pakanati’s research interests include International Relations, Comparative Politics, International Law and Global Governance. In particular he has been engaged with issues of transparency and accountability, and how they contribute to good governance. His dissertation project examines the process through which freedom of information legislations were adopted in India, the United Kingdom and South Africa, in a comparative context. The research also focuses on how the international norms on transparency are filtered through the domestic setting, and the impact they have on mechanisms of accountability. His present teaching includes courses on International Law, Research Methods, Accountability and Academic Writing.
